Gold Certification

How do I become Gold Certified?​

If you are Core Certified, you can acquire a Gold Certification by passing the Gold Certification Test or by attending certain advanced Ignition courses (Perspective or Databases & Scripting) and completing the labwork requirements. The course schedule can be found on the Inductive Automation Website.

The Gold Certification Test can only be started once you are Core Certified, and requires advanced proficiency with Ignition. The Gold test also requires knowledge of SQL and Python scripting in addition to all of the fundamentals of designing with Ignition. What is the Gold Certification Test like?​

The Gold Certification Test is a take-home Ignition exam that requires troubleshooting an Ignition Gateway backup and following a set of specifications to create your own Ignition project. The test must be submitted within six months of purchase. The files you work on will be submitted via the Inductive Automation website, and the test will be graded manually by Inductive Automation employees.

The results of the grading will be emailed to you, and you will have two submissions to pass the Gold Certification Test and meet the specifications of the project. If you do not pass on the first attempt, you will have one final attempt to fix any remaining issues and resubmit the test. If a test is returned without being graded in full, it will not count against your two submission limit. Once the test is given a passing grade you will receive a certificate via email.
