Starting on Monday, October 26, 2026 all new Core and Gold tests will be using Ignition 8.3.
All tests that are already in progress will continue with Ignition 8.1 as their original instructions state.

The Gold Certification Test is a take-home Ignition project, so the test can be considered “open book”. Meaning that publicly available Inductive Automation resources like the User Manual and Inductive University are allowed to be used during the test. In addition, the Gold test requires the use of SQL queries to access database data and Python Scripting to achieve more advanced functionality. Documentation about SQL queries and Python scripts can be used as well. Please note, while online resources are at your disposal, collaboration is prohibited while taking the test.
It is a good idea to have these open while preparing for and taking the test.
