Recommended Resources
The Certification Test is “open book”, meaning that publicly available Inductive Automation resources like the User Manual and Inductive University are allowed to be used during the test. Due to the timed nature of the test, your most useful resource will be your own previously acquired Ignition knowledge. While online resources are at your disposal, collaboration is prohibited while taking the test.
It is a good idea to have these open while preparing for and taking the test.
In addition to Ignition concepts, possessing a basic understanding of SQL and scripting is recommended for success on the Core test but also in developing projects. While there are SQL and scripting resources within the Ignition manual and Inductive University, here are some additional resources that might be helpful:
Before taking the test, we recommend that you complete the free Ignition Credential Course at Inductive University. Completing IU is not required to take the Certification Test. Although Inductive University does not capture every possible concept the test covers, obtaining your IU Credential will better position you to navigate the exam and succeed.
Actively following along with the Inductive University lessons on your own Ignition Gateway, in a sandbox environment, will help to reinforce your proficiency and familiarity with Ignition.
